Built from the hillside
The walls are made of stone quarried a kilometre away. The tiles were fired in the village. The olive trees are older than all of us.
When we turned the family house into a hotel in 2009, we restored rather than replaced: old doors were rehung, the terraces rebuilt by hand, and every room shaped around a window. The villas followed in 2018, set low into the slope so the hill still looks like a hill.
Sixty years in four chapters
A summer house
Giovanni and Rosa Ferri build a six-room house above the bay for family and friends.
The olive terraces
Four hectares of abandoned groves are replanted and the old press restored.
Staya opens
The house becomes a small hotel of eighteen rooms, with Olea on the terrace.
The Salt House
Our spa opens in the hillside, followed by the Sea View Suites in 2026.
