Common questions
Why don't my numbers match Google Analytics?
Metric counts unique visitors with a daily-rotating hash instead of cookies, and it isn't blocked by most privacy tools, so totals usually come out 10–30% higher.
Does Metric slow down my site?
No. The script is under 2 KB, loads with defer and sends data with the Beacon API after the page is interactive.
Can I import historical data?
Yes. Upload a CSV export from Google Analytics or Plausible in Settings → Import.
What happens if I go over my event limit?
We keep tracking. You'll get an email at 80% and 100%, and we'll suggest the right plan. There are no surprise charges.
